We are thrilled to be back on campus and share the dates for our upcoming drop-in, BARK2Go, and VEDA sessions at UBC Okanagan! With one drop-in behind us already, we are feeling very excited to welcome even more students, staff, and faculty to BARK sessions.
Drop-In Sessions: These sessions take place in EME 1123 on Friday evenings from 4:30-6pm. You can expect to find anywhere from 12-15 therapy dog-handler teams to interact with! After filling out a brief questionnaire to help with our ongoing research, you can stay as long as you’d like and de-stress before the weekend! We look forward to catching up with familiar faces and welcoming those new to campus. Join us on October 18, October 25, November 1, November 8, November 22, and November 29!
BARK2Go sessions: Designed as an on-the-go program to connect with the B.A.R.K. dogs between classes, these sessions take place from 2-3:30pm in three locations across the UBC Okanagan campus. Following its success last year, we are happy to be returning to the EME station! We will also be located in the Library Flex Space and 2nd floor of the UNC. These sessions are perfect for students, staff, or faculty to stop by for a quick visit or to stay for the full hour and a half! You can visit 2-4 dogs at each station and de-stress, make friends, or calm your nerves before an exam. Join us on October 16, October 23, October 30, November 6, November 20, November 27, and December 4!
VEDA sessions: We are pleased to be able to offer sessions in the VEDA Exclusive Student Living buildings off-campus once a month! These sessions take place this semester in the Lakeview clubroom from 6-7pm on Monday evenings. Stop by to hang out with 4-5 therapy dog-handler teams and get ready for your week with some canine cuddles! We’re also delighted to announce that we will be celebrating the last day of classes with the VEDA crew on Friday, December 6th! Join us on October 28, November 25, and Friday December 6 in the Lakeview building.
